The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 38-year-old Jelani Rogers, who has moved from White Plains to an apartment on Hayes Street in Elmsford.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Rogers as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense." He has also been designated as a sexually violent offender.
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Rogers was convicted of attempted rape in May the following year and sentenced to a term of between one day and four years in state prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Elmsford Village Police Department.
